- First steps: settings for the working environment, opening and saving documents, document formats, help system, etc.
- Fundamentals: User interface, FrameMaker concept
- Templates and page layout (body pages, master pages, reference pages)
- FrameMaker catalogues
- Text editing, paragraph styles, character styles
- Spelling, search and replace
- Table editing, table formats
- File import
- Graphics (anchored frames, graphics tools, importing of graphics, item styles)
- Dynamic documents (variables, markers, hypertext, cross-references)
- Basic information about books, content tables, indexes
- Output options
- Outlook: Conditional text
- Outlook: Publishing in HTML5 and other online formats
- Outlook: Transition to structured FrameMaker, DITA and others
The workshop is aimed at
(online) publishers and technical writers
Requirements:
Basic DTP skills are assumed
Good knowledge of other software (Word, QuarkXPress or InDesign)
Please note: Owing to the great scope of issues covered, the workshop is less suitable for newcomers to DTP.
